3月26日，在博鳌亚洲论坛2019年年会期间，意大利经济发展部副部长米凯雷·杰拉奇接受南海网记者采访时表示，海南是个相对独立的地理单元，在建设自贸区上独具优势。他认为海南在发展旅游业的同时也要发展高科技产业，在航天产业或其他高新技术产业方面一展拳脚，为未来发展带来无限潜力。

　　On 26th March, during the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference 2019, Michele Geraci, Undersecretary of State at the Italian Economic Development Department said Hainan is a suitable place for establishing a free trade zone. Because Hainan is an island, it physically separate from other part of China.

　　Mr. Geraci suggested that Hainan can develop high tech research center and space industry, not just rely on tourism.
